The blog has gotten a little
out of order now at the end
but if you know your geography
you can figure it out
we stayed in Roseburg Oregon
last night and are only about 5 hours
away from Seattle....
YAY!!!
So we'll be there Saturday October 20th
sometime in the early afternoon.
Not much more to see I don't think
but we'll see...
It's been a long but great trip

So far Oregon has been wet
a lot of rain
but the little bit of sun we had
we saw some cool stuff
there is a lot of beautiful mountains
and trees and stuff but it was hard to see
with all the rain and fog

I don't know how many of you have heard of this
but it is cool, just very strange and random....

Oh and this is a giant caveman statue
outside one of the Oregon
visitors centers we saw.....

We actually didn't find that welcome sign
until we were leaving California

The picture below is what a sand storm looks
like in the distance this one got to close though
we heard that it killed two people out there
somewhere

This is us sitting in traffic in the middle of the desert
it took us two hours to go two miles
luckily there was a gas station right where the
traffic cleared up because we were in the red
and the light was about to come on
a little scary

This is the beach in Carmel
much better than the desert.....

More random weirdness
this seems to be a dragon made of metal
it is somewhere close to the border
of Oregon in Northern California.....

More Arizona

Above is the dirt road we had to drive on
for 14 miles through the Joshua Tree National Forest
in order to get to the Grand Canyon West
below are a few of the millions of Joshua Trees we saw

This is at Grand Canyon West
the Indians call this Eagle Peak...

This is the Skywalk
this thing is amazing, glass walls and a glass floor
it sits over a 4,000 foot sheer drop

Yeah......
the London Bridge
more randomness
exactly what we were looking for

It took us so long to update the blog
because of the camping and
internet problems out here
but we still have a few days ahead of us
and hope to keep up with it a little better.....

Here is our campfire at the Grand Canyon
It was very cold at night
but we saw just about every star in the sky

This is a sign warning of Elk crossing
we saw a few too...

Here is a shot of the Grand Canyon
it is pretty amazing
you really have to be there to get it....

This is the entrance to Fred's Diner
in The Flinstones Village

Here we are at the 4 corners

This is Sedona Arizona
a very cute little town
with a great view

Julius Caesar haling a cab
does being naked help??

We stayed here two nights

The view form our room in New York, New York....

New Mexico

This is one of a million dead signs
ugly and pictuesque....

This road was perfectly straight for about
25 miles...

These are some pictures of the
Albequerque Balloon Fiesta
It was just luck that this was going the same week we were
passing through....

We were out for a drive at night to get some food
and Amy spotted this in a field
we ended up driving into some horse track
to see these few guys just lighting up there balloons....

Good eats....

A New Mexican sunset
from our hotel room view....

Texas

So the trick here is if you can eat this 72oz steak
with all the fixins'
it is free

A couple pictures of Palo Duro Canyon
this is where Canyon Texas gets
its name obviously...

Ok so is this cross big enough?
They say it is the 2nd biggest in the western hemisphere
somewhere outside Amarillo....

This is about a mile or two away....

Big sky out here in Texas
This is a sunrise....

Speaks for itself.......

This is called Cadillac Ranch
it is just outside of Amarillo
They encourage graffiti
Some very rich crazy old guy does stuff
like this all over the place around here including
a 120' by 80' pool table with 42" pool balls
in some field you can only really see form
an airplane

One last oddity in Texas before we left...
Yes it is a giant pair of legs in a field
